Field Mission Statistics

Your kind donations mean that we were able to treat thousands of patients in the Republic of Madagascar during our 2014/15 and 2015/16 field services. With a population of 23 million, this nation is one of the least developed countries in the world and has only 3 doctors for every 10,000 people.

During our field services in the Republic of Madagascar, Mercy Ships volunteers provided surgeries for adult and child patients on board the Africa Mercy, treat patients at our land-based dental clinic, and provide desperately needed health care education to Malagasy health care workers and community leaders.

Surgeries include removal of life-threatening tumours, cleft lip and palate repairs, plastic reconstruction for severe burn-related injuries, hernia repairs, cataract removal, correction for orthopaedic deformities (club foot, bowed legs and other severe abnormalities), obstetric fistula repair and dental care.

Kind donations have also helped people like SambanyRavetteLucrech and  Emmanoel.
